The Only Safe Place is the Dark

Book Review, 4/5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Only Safe Place Left is the Dark by Warren Wagner. There were some creative twists and a fun take on the zombie apocalypse! Very creative and unique. Haven’t read a zombie book with these themes.

This book was a Novella, about a zombie apocalypse in an alternative history branching off the AIDS crisis.

Although, there needed to be some light editing or proofread, it wasn’t enough to take me away from the contents of the book.

As tempted as I am to give spoilers, I won’t. Definitely check out this book if you enjoy queer books and a short read. The MC is a gay male.

I typically only read sapphic books, but I decided I want to branch out and start reading LGBTQ+ books of any genre really. We need to support our queer authors and books.

If you have a queer bookshop (like I do), go and support them too.
